1960's Co-Op Remodle

This was my first remodel job, and I did the design and construction myself, using only the highest quality materials and methods.

The kitchen is done in brushed nickel and red oak, which I used throughout the entire house in order to create a sense of continuity.

The kitchen consists of multiple custom parts, including solid concrete counter tops.

The dining room floor is also a dark stained, red oak T&G floor.

A new wall was added to separate the family room and the entryway, providing an added level of privacy and comfort.

The bathroom was updated for both style and safety.

The staircase was modified to an open-riser step, and custom furniture (dry sink and floor-to-ceiling bookcases) was added to free up the floor plan, and increase the apparent openness of the entryway.

Senior Capstone Presentation

My thesis dealt with new ways in which sustainable systems can be integrated symbiotically into a single house, and was the University of Arizona's first comprehensive design for their entry in the 2009 Solar Decathlon, which will be held on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
